RIDING THROUGH THE STORM
(Inspired by “Through the Storm” performed by Yolanda Adams)
The song “Through the Storm” assures believers that no matter how fierce life’s trials may be, Christ is the Captain who carries them safely through. “He rocks me in His arms, while riding through the storm.” These lyrics paint a vivid picture of security in Jesus, whose power is greater than the fiercest winds.
Storms often arrive suddenly and without warning—diagnoses, losses, conflicts, and disappointments that shake the foundation of life. Yet for the Christian, these storms do not have the final word. In the midst of uncertainty, God’s presence provides unshakable peace.
Mark 4:39 recounts Jesus calming the sea: “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” The One who spoke peace to the storm on Galilee still speaks calm into the chaos of our lives today.
When believers face storms, fear may rise, but faith clings to the truth that Christ is in the boat. He holds His children steady, and no storm can remove them from His grasp.
“Through the Storm” is both a song of comfort and a declaration of faith. It calls Christians to rest in Jesus’ power, to trust His presence in the storm, and to testify that He alone is the source of peace and safety.
