Let There Be Light

LIGHT OF FREEDOM
(Inspired by “Let There Be Light” performed by Hillsong Worship)

When the song declares, “Let there be light,” it echoes the very words of creation, when God spoke light into existence and dispelled the darkness. The same voice that called forth the sun and stars still speaks today, bringing life and hope to hearts shadowed by sin and fear. Christ Himself is that light, the One who reveals the truth of God’s glory and the path to freedom.

This divine illumination doesn’t just brighten our circumstances—it transforms our vision. When believers walk in the light, they see people differently, forgive more readily, and live with renewed purpose. The blind receiving sight and the broken finding healing are not only miracles of the past but ongoing expressions of God’s mercy today. His Spirit ignites clarity where confusion once ruled and peace where anxiety once reigned.

Yet the light of Christ demands a response. It calls us out of secrecy, compromise, and despair into holy transparency. As Paul wrote, “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8). Every word, every action, every moment can either reflect or obscure that light. The Church’s mission is to shine until every corner of the world glows with the knowledge of His grace.

So let this be our prayer—that the light that shines above becomes the light that shines within, exposing sin, restoring sight, and radiating freedom. In a culture clouded by doubt and deception, followers of Christ are called not to curse the darkness but to embody His brilliance. When His light fills the soul, it cannot be contained; it bursts forth as compassion, truth, and praise to the God of glory.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, shine Your light in every hidden place of my heart. Burn away pride, fear, and compromise, and fill me with Your radiant peace. May Your presence within me be a lamp to those still walking in darkness.

APPLICATION
Bring the light of Christ into one dark place today—through forgiveness, encouragement, or truth spoken in love.
