Refuge

REFUGE IN THE STORM
(Inspired by “Refuge” performed by Finding Favor)

The song “Refuge” captures the cry of a heart seeking safety in God: “Oh God, You are my refuge, I will cling to You.” These lyrics echo the psalms of David, who often declared God as his fortress and strong tower in times of danger and distress.

Storms of life are inevitable. Troubles roll like waves, threatening to overwhelm. Yet God’s people are promised that He Himself is their shelter. His unchanging nature provides a secure place to stand when everything else shifts.

Psalm 46:1 declares, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” This truth is not theoretical but deeply practical. In the fiercest trials, the believer can turn to the Lord and find peace that the world cannot give.

The image of clinging to God is powerful. It reflects dependence, humility, and trust. To cling is to hold fast, refusing to let go no matter how violent the storm. It is the confession that only God can sustain, rescue, and deliver.

“Refuge” is more than a song of comfort—it is a call to faith. As believers sing these words, they are reminded to turn away from false securities and place their trust fully in the Lord. He alone is the anchor when waves of trouble roll.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for being my refuge and strength. Help me to cling to You in every storm and rest in the peace only You provide.
