Truth Im Standing On

STANDING FIRM ON GOD’S PROMISES
(Inspired by “Truth I’m Standing On” performed by Leanna Crawford)

Life often pushes us to the edge of what we think we can bear. The lyrics of “Truth I’m Standing On” echo the experience of fear, doubt, and exhaustion: “Scared, oh, I thought I knew scared, but I’m so filled with fear, I can barely move.” Many believers resonate with those words when trials strip away our strength and leave us clinging to God’s promises alone.

Faith is not proven in the absence of hardship but in the midst of it. Like the psalmist who declared, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer” (Psalm 18:2), we learn that God’s character is unshakable when everything around us trembles. This truth stands firm even when emotions falter. His faithfulness is not contingent upon our feelings but rooted in His eternal nature.

In seasons of pain or uncertainty, it can feel as though God is distant, yet His Word assures us otherwise. Romans 8:28 reminds us that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” That means the difficulties we endure are never wasted; they are woven into His perfect plan, shaping us for His glory and our ultimate good.

Standing on God’s truth requires daily choice. It means declaring His promises even when they seem hidden behind the fog of disappointment. It means remembering that His plan is perfect “all along,” as the song proclaims. For Christians, hope is not optimism rooted in circumstances but confidence anchored in Christ, who never fails and never forsakes.
