THE FEAR THAT KEEPS US STEADFAST

The song “Fear of God” by Brooke Ligertwood carries a sobering reminder that true security in a world of spiritual warfare is found not in human strength, but in reverence for the Lord. The enemy is described in Scripture as a roaring lion seeking to devour, yet this song proclaims with confidence that the fear of God is what will keep believers steadfast.
The fear of God is not terror that drives away but reverence that draws near. Proverbs 9:10 teaches, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” To fear God is to live in awe of His holiness, trusting that His power protects and His truth guides even when trials rage.

Holy God, thank You for being my refuge and strength. Teach me to walk in reverent fear that leads to wisdom, courage, and steadfast faith until the day Christ returns. Amen.
