THE SOUND OF FREEDOM
(Inspired by “Freedom Hymn” performed by Austin French)
The song “Freedom Hymn” proclaims the liberating power of Christ: “This is the sound of chains breaking, this is the beat of a heart changing.” It reminds believers that the gospel is not only about forgiveness of sins but also about true freedom from bondage.
So many try to fight life’s battles alone, pushing and pulling at locked doors. Yet real victory is found only in surrender to Christ. Freedom is not achieved through human effort but received as a gift of grace.
John 8:36 assures us, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Jesus alone has the authority to break chains of sin, shame, and fear. His death and resurrection guarantee that those who belong to Him walk in a new identity—no longer slaves, but children of God.
This freedom changes everything. The past no longer defines, and fear no longer rules. Believers breathe the air of freedom, living with confidence that life is secure in God’s hands. Such freedom does not lead to carelessness but to deeper gratitude and devotion.
“Freedom Hymn” becomes more than a song; it is a testimony. Each time believers sing it, they declare Christ’s victory over the forces that once held them captive. It is a hymn of the redeemed, a chorus of chains broken and hearts made new.
