GOD’S PERFECT PLAN

The song “God Had Other Plans” reflects the mystery of God’s providence. Life often leads in directions that seem certain until the Lord redirects the path. The lyrics remind believers that what appears to be an ending can, by God’s hand, become the very beginning of something new.
So many can recall moments when expectations collapsed—a lost opportunity, a failed relationship, or a closed door. These seasons can tempt the heart to believe God has forgotten. Yet songs like this declare the truth: His plans are higher, wiser, and full of purpose that often cannot be seen in the moment.
Jeremiah 29:11 anchors this reality: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” These words, spoken to Israel in exile, were not promises of ease but assurances of God’s covenant faithfulness. Even in hardship, He was guiding history toward redemption.
Christians today stand in that same confidence. What the world calls failure or accident, God weaves into a tapestry of grace. Through unexpected detours, He positions His people to bear witness to His goodness.
“God Had Other Plans” calls believers to trust deeply in the One who writes every chapter. Rather than despairing over doors that close, Christians are invited to rejoice in God’s redirection. His purposes are never thwarted, and His timing is always perfect.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You that Your plans are always greater than mine. Help me surrender my expectations and trust Your perfect will in every circumstance.
APPLICATION
When facing an unexpected change, choose to pause and thank God for His better plan, even before it becomes clear.
